As an artist, the most difficult aspect of – “Living the Dream” – is learning to embrace the entrepreneurial spirit that is necessary to survive. Self-promotion often seems counter-intuitive to our visceral persona. But the hard edged reality of  the market forces many of us to become more enterprising than we wish to be.

Fortunately for us, there are many tools and resources at our disposal that weren’t always available. And for those of us exploring them… it is a new frontier that must become a part of our living language.

That doesn’t mean we must conform to the current trends in order to make it. It simply means that it is our responsibility to discover where and how we fit in the art world, because the market is certainly big enough to support every manner of creative expression. So as I learn to embody my own dream, in its purest expression, I too must explore and carve out my own place.
